Lent Worship Theme

Hi Friends,

Let me share with you the early planning for the Lent Series. As of this printing, we are looking at the theme “Wondrous Encounters.” Each Sunday we would be looking at a different encounter a gospel character had with Jesus. We will be starting this series March 6^th and obviously leading up to Palm Sunday/Holy Week (April 17^th) and Easter (April 24^th). Therefore, the specific, weekly themes would be determined by the person preaching on a particular Sunday and the “encounter” on which he/she would focus.

Our hope for the kick-off Sunday to this series would be an introduction to the series theme and all the characters we will be encountering during the seven weeks. That would mean that, hopefully, you will at least know the “encounter” that will be preached about on your Sundays.

Here’s where your input would be helpful. Can we toss around some ideas of two or three songs we want to highlight during these eight weeks? Let’s just start by gathering possible songs and then we’ll go from there.

Also, can you all confirm your availability for the dates below, please? I did make a change to the schedule Cherice sent out this morning by trading Janine with Jared/Bryan, April 17^th and 24^th My thinking here is that Jared and Bryan’s quieter approach would be better for heading into Holy Week and Janine’s group’s bigger sound better for Easter.
